Crowfoot Glacier viewpoint
The Crowfoot Glacier has retreated, losing one lobe since being named, thus decreasing its resemblance to a Crow’s Foot. Meltwater from the glacier supplies the Bow River. Crowfoot was formerly attached to the Waputik Icefield [1].Access & Location
Location:
Pullout on Icefields Parkway, in Banff National Park, 33 km north of the junction with Highway 1.
Peyto Lake viewpoint
The delta and outwash plane from the Wapta Icefield is infilling the 5moraine-dammed Peyto Lake. The lookout also provides views of Peyto (2970 m) and Thompson (3065 m) mountains, and Bow Lake [1].
Access & Location
A short hike from the turnoff to Bow Summit on Icefields Parkway, in Banff National Park, 40 km north of the junction with Highway 1.
